    Shreveport, LA Structural design of new two-story (with future third floor), 14,107 SF steel frame building on mid-depth spread foundations. Structure consists of composite steel floor and structural steel columns and braced frame lateral system. Demolition of existing 7,000 SF Building #5.

    U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Specialty Care Outpatient Clinic

    Atlanta, GA Structural evaluation and design retrofit of an existing two-story, 111,138 SF structural steel and concrete framed building converted in use to a VA Outpatient Clinic. Performed structural evaluation of existing gravity and lateral systems, designed retrofitting of existing structural systems to meet new use and current codes. Performed structural design of new entry drive through canopy, exterior and interior elevator towers; new infill roof over existing mechanical yard; retaining walls and physical security and blast specialist for the $25M project.

    Continental United States Façade inspection of nine aging VA Medical Center towers located throughout the county. Each facility was between six and twelve stories in height and constructed prior to 1979. Inspections include examination of as-built drawings, user interviews, and broad and close up inspections of facades using rappel access, lifts and bore scope examination. Deficiencies were noted, categorized as to severity and photographed. The root cause of the deficiency was determined and the cost to repair was estimated.

    Hawthorn Medical Associates, Specialty Building

    Dartmouth, MA Structural peer review for the design of a new 126,700 SF three story steel framed commercial medical building consisting of women's center, pediatrics, internal medicine, orthopedics, rehabilitation center, diagnostic imaging, a laboratory, and walk-in urgent care center. The lateral system of the building was composed of steel concentrically braced frames and steel moment frames. Reviewed the structural system, foundations, and provided coordination of structural components, and performed calculations on behalf of the owner.

    Savannah, GA Performed third-party value engineering study of 35% conceptual design documents for construction of a medical and dental clinic of approximately 5,400 gross square meters. Facilities include primary care, pharmacy, optometry, radiology, pathology, ENT/audiology, preventative/occupational medicine, physical therapy, and associated administrative and support spaces. Dental service will include general dentistry, endodontics, periodontics, prosthodontics, orthodontics, and oral surgery.

    Asheboro, NC Structural design of a 8,150 SF wood and steel frame medical office building on conventional spread foundations.

    Athens, GA Structural design of a single-story, 13,700 SF medical office building with partial basement and mechanical mezzanine. Wood truss roof on load bearing light gauge metal stud framing and concrete floor deck on steel joists.
  • Wilkes-Barre (PA) VA Medical Center, Structural Facade Inspection

    Wilkes-Barre, PA Façade inspection of a 607,000 SF fourteen (14) story medical facility that was originally constructed in 1947.  Inspection included critical examination of as-built drawings, user interviews and research, broad and close-up inspection of the building façade exterior construction (including roof, parapet), window types, lintel and sill, historic status, height, and number of stories.  Additionally provided photographic evidence collection, cost estimating of repairs and reporting.  Utilized a variety of inspection techniques including rappelling, rope access and bore scope examination.  Inspection was executed with complete regard for safety using a 2-man buddy system.
